Gardening for Wildlife: speaker Carol Goodwin

October 2, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Title:       Gardening for Wildlife

Description:  The talk will focus on habitats that exist in gardens and how to preserve and improve them, as well as the influence of the greater landscape on your efforts. What is wildlife? Why would we want it in our gardens? What role can we play in supporting pollinators in our region? Please join us to find out the answer to these and any other questions you may have.

Speaker:  Carol Goodwin is a long-time teacher at the Agriculture College in Truro, and, later, Dalhousie University.  She has encouraged adult learning, volunteerism and a love of horticulture through the classroom, leading garden tours to England, and as a member of the Truro Tree Committee and Communities in Bloom as well as helping to create the Truro Community Gardens, and the Friends of the Gardens on the AC campus.  Now retired from full time teaching, she continues to instruct in the Atlantic Master Garden Program, and owns and manages Beneath the Boughs Woodland Plant Nursery and Pottery Studio.

You can find her business on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/Beneath-the-Boughs-Woodland-Plant-Nursery-and-Pottery-996264067115283/
