Planting the Winery at Lightfoot & Wolfville

Planting in July with cranes overhead, dreams meet reality, just as, in the beds, Mediterranean meets Valley agrarian. We’ll look at the design concepts and plant choices behind the much visited and enjoyed gardens surrounding the Wolfville area’s newest winery. Planted in 2017, the mostly herbaceous gardens are surprisingly mature.

Bio: Nina Newington has made her living designing and planting gardens for the past 25 years. She lives on the North Mountain with her wife, surrounded by hornbeam hedges and unruly roses. When she can’t garden she writes. Her new novel, Cardinal Divide, will be out next spring.
