SUMMARY:ARHS AGM and Rhododendron Tissue Culture Project
DESCRIPTION:Annual General Meeting\n \nThe meeting will start at 7:30 pm with the President’s Report\, Audited Financial Statement for 2025-26 and election of ARHS Board for 2026-27.  At 8:00 pm we will have the following presentation:\n \nRhododendron Tissue Culture Project\nThis fall\, the Atlantic Rhododendron and Horticultural Society approved funding for a collaborative research and development project with VITIS Vines Inc.\, a Nova Scotia-based plant tissue culture company specializing in advanced propagation. The project aims to establish up to 12 rhododendron cultivars and breeder selections in tissue culture\, using plant material contributed by Society members. \nPresentation – Andrew Richards\, Operations Manager\, VITIS Vines Inc.\nAndrew will introduce the tissue culture micropropagation process and discuss how this collaboration can help preserve unique rhododendron genetics\, overcome conventional propagation challenges\, and enable the production of greater quantities of locally developed cultivars for growers and Society members. He will also outline the project’s objectives\, anticipated timelines\, and potential for future propagation and germplasm safeguarding.

SUMMARY:Members Slide Show and Seasonal Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Join us to share images from your garden\, a garden that you have visited recently or Rhodos which you have grown.  \nWe ask that each member limit their presentation to seven images\, so that all who wish will have an opportunity to present.  We will start with the images of those who attend in person at the NS Museum\, followed by those participating by Zoom.  \nThe presentation is followed by our annual pot-luck seasonal reception.  Please bring finger food to share.  Soft  drinks and fruit juices will be provided. \nJoin us at the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History or by Zoom.  The Zoom link will be sent out by email.  For further information\, contact Jim Sharpe at Atlanticrhodo@gmail.com
