SUMMARY:Clematis: Queen of the Climbers; Zoom meeting
DESCRIPTION:“Clematis:  Queen of the Climbers” \nEveryone knows clematis\, but few gardeners take advantage of the diversity of the genus and ways to grow them.  Clematis can be climbing\, sprawling\, groundcover\, large-flowered\, small-flowered\, white/pink/red/blue/purple/multi-colored\, fragrant\, and used as cut flowers\, in window boxes or in containers.  Clematis can be grown on trellises\, over shrubs\, through trees\, as weavers between shrubs and as ground covers.  Jeff will also discuss the clematis trials being conducted in southeastern Pennsylvania since 2014\, as well as the “gardener-friendly” classification system for clematis that was recently introduced by the International Clematis Society. \n  \nJeff Jabco is President of the International Clematis Society.  He works at the Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College in suburban Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania\, where he is Director of Grounds and Coordinator of Horticulture. Jeff also works at Longwood Gardens as an instructor in the professional horticulture training program.  And he gardens at home….. \n
