SUMMARY:Halifax Fall Garden Tour
DESCRIPTION:Come enjoy touring 3 local Halifax gardens on Saturday September 12th!  Refer to your member email for addresses for the gardens. \nOur new programming for 2020-2021 begins Saturday\, September 12.  It is also time to renew your membership to the Atlantic Rhododendron and Horticultural Society (ARHS).  Memberships are valid from September 1st\, 2020 until August 31st\, 2021.\n \nPlease consider taking a joint membership with the ARHS and the American Rhododendron Society (ARS).  We will be hosting the ARS Spring 2021 Convention.  Our goal is to have 100 ARS members in our chapter.  Members receive the ARS Journal four times a year. You are entitled to attend national and international conventions. The ARS offers an extensive seed exchange\, a pollen bank\, and discounts on Rhododendron and Azalea books through their online book store.\n \nARHS supports and promotes the development and exchange of expertise and material relating to the practice of creating and maintaining year-round garden landscapes featuring rhododendrons and other suitable plants.\nDue to increases in our printing and shipping costs\, the price of a printed newsletter has been increased to $30.  \n \nThe Atlantic Rhododendron & Horticultural Society (ARHS) meetings are held at the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History\, Halifax Nova Scotia. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions\, the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History is closed for group meetings temporarily until January 2021.  Our programming committee is organizing a monthly event either outdoors or virtually for this fall.
