SUMMARY:Small Rhododendrons and other Ericaceous Plants for the Rock Garden
DESCRIPTION:Todd Boland  — Small Rhododendrons and other Ericaceous plants for the rock garden. \nThis presentation will highlight hardy (zone 5) dwarf rhododendrons that lend themselves to rock gardens\, along with closely related genera that can used as companions. The plant selections are based primarily on those which are growing in the rock garden at the Memorial University of Newfoundland Botanical Garden \nBio: Todd is the research horticulturist at the MUN Botanical Garden. He was instrumental in the designing and installations of their Asian Garden\, Crevice Garden\, Fern Ally and Rhododendron Dell\, the latter that houses many of his own developed hybrids. \nHe is the author of several wildflower guides including the Trees and Shrubs of the Maritimes and Wildflowers of Nova Scotia. These books will be available for purchase at the end of the meeting\, along with their signing by Todd. \nMeeting location: Please note the meeting will be held at the Dalhousie Art Gallery\, 6101 University Ave. Street parking available.
